Zopa Bank has announced the appointment of Kate Erb as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Peter Donlon as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), pending regulatory approval. The digital bank aims to strengthen its leadership team as it continues to grow and work towards an eventual initial public offering (IPO).
New Leadership Appointments
Kate Erb joins Zopa with over 20 years of experience in financial services, having served as a chartered accountant at KPMG and led operations and infrastructure at Leeds Building Society. Erb will lead operations, customer service, collections, and recoveries at the digital bank.
Peter Donlon, former CTO of Moonpig, has a track record of scaling online businesses and leading them to successful IPOs. He played a crucial role in Moonpig’s London Stock Exchange listing in 2021, which valued the company at £1.2bn.
Preparing for the Future
These appointments follow the recent addition of Pippa Lambert to Zopa’s board as a non-executive director. Lambert, who oversaw 80,000 employees at Deutsche Bank, will chair Zopa’s remuneration committee
Though CEO Jaidev Janardana has said the bank does not have plans for an immediate IPO, the new hires reflect the company’s readiness for a potential public offering, which will depend on market conditions.
Donlon is excited to join Zopa, saying: “I am proud to be joining Zopa’s purpose-driven team and look forward to scaling its digitally native offering, reaching even more customers as it continues to grow profitably.”
