Trustly Acquires Slimpay to Expand Recurring Payments
Paris-based Slimpay, founded in 2010, offers account-to-account payments to merchants with recurring payment needs. Prime Ventures and Maine Capital are the key shareholders of the company. According to Bloomberg, this acquisition resulted in a total €70m payout for investors.
Last year, Trustly also acquired UK open banking firm Ecospend. Trustly’s Group CEO, Johan Tjärnberg, stated that the addition of SlimPay aligns with Trustly’s strategy to offer a unique 360-degree embedded experience across all types of digital payments.
The deal between Trustly and Slimpay aims to strengthen their recurring payments propositions and expand their customer base into new verticals and geographies. Slimpay’s CEO, Jerome Traisnel, expressed excitement about working with Trustly to create a streamlined payment experience across Europe.
Royal Park Partners acted as exclusive strategic and financial advisor for SlimPay and its shareholders.
